Tips to Running While on Vacation

Comments (0)

Don’t let your vacation knock you off track with your running routine. We have a few helpful tips that are sure to help you succeed at keeping up with you running schedule even while on vacation.

Look up Areas to Run Before You Leave: Research where you will be and get online to find some great running spots close to your hotel. Having a course already mapped out before you are on your trip will keep you from wasting time while you are on vacation.

Pack Appropriately: It may be snowing and cold where you live, but if you are planning a trip to the beach where the weather is quite the opposite make sure to pull your warm weather gear out of your closet and get your mind thinking warmer temps.

Schedule Your Run in With Every Other Activity on Your Trip: Instead of just assuming you will find some time for running on your trip, actually plan it in with all your other activities. This way you won’t be trying to find time for your run, it will already be apart of your daily schedule.

Ask Local Runners: Stop in the local running shop and ask for tips on good running trails. You can also ask the front desk at your hotel. They always have information on good places to eat, as well as good parks and areas to run.
Stay Somewhere With a Treadmill: If you are short on time and just want to get in a quick run, make sure to stay at a hotel with a gym.

The moment you stop your exercise routine, it is that much harder to get started again, so keep up with your health even while on vacation. Dr Evan Merrill and his staff at Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle, LLC understand the importance of staying healthy, especially when pertaining to your feet. Keep your feet healthy by keeping the rest of your body healthy. If you are experiencing foot pain make sure to make an appointment today by calling 541-777-3338 or by filling out our online form.
