We all know that water is probably the most essential thing we should be putting into our bodies, and with summer right around the corner it is important to stay hydrated. Our bodies all require different amounts of water, so, how do you know when your body is sufficiently hydrated?
One rule to go by is to make your primary source of fluid water, and drink until you feel like your thirst is satisfied. Listen to your body!
Also, check your urine color. If it seems to be more on the dark yellow side opposed to a lighter or more clear color this may be a sign of dehydration.
When exercising, make sure to drink water before as well as during your exercise. This also pertains to being our in the hot sun all day. Don’t wait until you are overly thirsty, which can cause heat stroke and other problems.
Be mindful of these signs of dehydration: dry mouth, dry skin, sleepiness, headache, constipation, and dizziness.
If you struggle with drinking water, try an infuser water bottle where you can add fruits to flavor your water. Find a water bottle you like and keep refilling it throughout the day. Make sure to always keep it with you wherever you go, and you will have better luck keeping hydrated.
