Comments (0)

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner as well as some beautiful spring running weather. If you looking for a good race to wear your favorite green running gear this St. Patty’s Day, here are a few in the Oregon area that might be right up your alley.

Lucky Dog Race: This one is in Portland and is on March 15th. There is a 5K, 10K, and 15K available and is a calm and beautiful run. It goes along the paved Rock Creek Train in NW Portland.
St. Patrick’s Day Dash: Bend is the home of this race which is held on March 14th. The race is a 5K and is perfect if you are looking for a fun run to do with your family. Dress in your favorite Green/St. Patty’s day attire to support Kids Center, which is a child abuse intervention center.
Shamrock Run: Another race on March 14th is found in Central Point. This is also a 5K and starts at Crater Lake High School.
Newport Shamrock Run: Look no further than Newport, OR for this race. Another March 14th race, with a 5K and a 10K as well as a free kids fun run. Bring the whole family to this beautiful race near the ocean.
Shamrock Run- Portland: If you are looking for a larger race, this one is for you. There is a half marathon as well as a 5K, 8K, and 15K. This race starts at waterfront park in Portland. Remember to wear green!

These smaller races are great if you have been wanting to get into running and races. Start out small so that you feel comfortable with the atmosphere and then move on to some bigger races. Southern Oregon Foot & Ankle LLC is always up to date with races in the Southern Oregon and surrounding areas. Make sure to check out Dr. Evan’s Merrill’s list of races he has run.
